Cortlandt Man Smashes Cop Cars During Drug, Weapon Arrest
Cocaine and a loaded Glock 26 9mm were located in his home.

CORTLANDT, NY — A Cortlandt man who smashed into two police cars as state cops were trying to arrest him is accused of selling narcotics and possessing an illegal gun. He was ordered held in county jail without bail.
Charles Leonard was arrested Sept. 12, the New York State Police Troop K Community Narcotics Enforcement Team, along with New York State Police BCI and Uniform members,.
State Police said they arrested Leonard on a vehicle and traffic stop subsequent to a narcotics investigation. During the traffic stop Leonard intentionally struck two marked State Police units. After that, he was taken into custody without further incident.

At the time of arrest, Leonard was found to possess 27.9 grams of cocaine and U.S. currency.
A search warrant was executed on Leonard’s residence where 33.7 grams of cocaine and a loaded Glock 26 9mm were located.

Leonard, 44, was charged with 2 counts of Criminal Possession of Controlled Substance 3rd, 2 counts of Criminal Possession of Controlled Substance 3rd with intent to sell, Criminal Possession of Weapon 3rd and Criminal Possession of a Firearm.
He was arraigned in the Town of Cortlandt Justice Court and sent to Westchester County Jail without bail.
