Cortlandt Victim ID'd In Fatal Motorcycle Crash

The crash involved a left-turning Lexus on Route 6.

CORTLANDT, NY — Westchester County Police are continuing to investigate a fatal accident that occurred Friday evening on Route 6. At 5:50 p.m., a motorcycle traveling eastbound collided with a westbound Lexus sedan that was making a left-hand turn toward an entrance ramp for the Bear Mountain State Parkway.

The operator of the motorcycle was severely injured and was taken by ambulance to New York Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital in Cortlandt, where she died of her injuries.

Westchester police identified her as Daniela Aida, 37, of Westbrook Drive, Cortlandt Manor.

A county police Accident Investigation Team closed Route 6 in the vicinity of the Bear Mountain Parkway for several hours Friday night as it conducted an investigation into the collision. (Sign up to get more Peekskill-Cortlandt Patch police news and free daily newsletter.)

The driver of the Lexus, a 47-year-old man, was not injured. He was interviewed at county police headquarters Friday night and released. No charges were filed but the investigation into the cause of the crash is continuing.

The Mohegan Lake Fire Department and ambulance corps also responded to the scene.
