Dense Fog Over Hudson Valley: National Weather Service

Drive carefully, the NWS said in a special weather statement for Westchester, Rockland, Putnam, Orange and the region.

Dense fog overlays the entire New York City metropolitan region Saturday morning, according to the National Weather Service. The NWS issued a special weather statement at 7:38 a.m. that includes Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester counties, as well as New York City, Long Island, southwestern Connecticut and northern New Jersey.

Locally dense fog is possible across the area this morning. If driving, prepare for rapid changes in visibility. Slow down and maintain extra distance from other vehicles.

The NWS says on Saturday temperatures will be on the mild side, about 10 degrees above normal.
Rain chances diminish through tonight, with even some snow possibly mixing in north of the city. High pressure builds in for a dry, but breezy Sunday. High temperatures will return closer to normal.

While Saturday will be way too warm for the rain to turn to snow in most of the Hudson Valley, a storm system moving in behind colder air could bring us a dusting.

"Sunday night, we’ll track a weak frontal system… almost clipper type system move into the Hudson Valley," said Alex Marra and Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather. "This will likely spread light snow into the region Sunday night into Monday morning. "
