Electrical Fire At Montrose VA Takes Down Main Power Line
The Montrose VA is operating on a generator following an electrical fire this afternoon that took down the main electrical feed to the facility.

An electrical fire in Montrose VA building 24 took out the main power line of the facility this afternoon, said Robert Porter, emergency management coordinator for the Montrose VA Fire Department. The Montrose VA is operating on a generator while engineers assess damage.
The call came in at 2:40 p.m. and firefighters from Montrose, Buchanan and Croton-on-Hudson responded, containing the fire to an electrical panel in the unoccupied building that serves as a storage and electrical utility space. No evacuations were necessary.
Cortlandt volunteer ambulance corps and paramedics set up at building 17, which was next to the fire.

Porter reported one injury to a Montrose firefighter that was not caused by the fire. "I don’t know the extent of the injuries -- nothing life threatening," said Porter.
