CROTON-ON-HUDSON, NY, APRIL 2016

For the first time, Croton-on-Hudson will host an open mic fundraiser for the National MS Society and their annual WALK MS event.

The event is being organized by two local Croton WALK MS teams, “The E Team” and “Team Hanky Paws”, who have joined forces to raise money for the MS Society’s efforts to end multiple sclerosis.

The event will take place on Saturday, April 16th at 8pm, at the Black Cow in Croton-on-Hudson, 4 Old Post Road South.

For a $10 donation at the door, people will be treated to an exciting evening featuring local musicians, free appetizers and dessert, an incredible tag sale, and a huge silent auction.

All proceeds will go to the National MS Society to aid their fight against MS, an unpredictable and often disabling disease of the central nervous system. While great progress has been made in recent years by scientists and researchers (funded in part by the MS Society), MS is still a severe and chronic disease with a range of symptoms that can include vision loss, pain, fatigue and impaired coordination.

Tag sale items will include high-end designer clothing and furniture.

Silent auction items, generously donated by local businesses, include:

-Restaurants gift cards from X2O, Tagine, Samurai, Mex-To-Go and Red Hat on the River

-Beauty and wellness gift certificates for massage therapy, personal training and health coaching, as well as salon treatments from Carmen’s Unisex in Croton and Carla’s Hair Salon in Mohegan Lake

-Books from Random House and Simon & Schuster

-Tickets to a taping of Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen

-Gift certificates and gift baskets from Feed the Birds, Run on Hudson, the Green Growler and Hilltop Nursery and Garden Center

-Pet care products, toys and grooming supplies from the Rye Harrison Veterinary Hospital

-Plus much, much more…

Food will be provided by Shoprite in Croton and La Monica’s Salumeria, with wine from local merchants including Van Wyck Liquors.

The event space was generously donated by Croton’s Black Cow.

Items can be paid for by cash or check.
