Damaging winds and flooding are possible. See the latest forecast.
HUDSON VALLEY, NY — The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester counties. The NWS also updated its hazardous outlook for Dutchess and Ulster Tuesday afternoon.
- For the lower Hudson Valley: Thunderstorms Wednesday and Wednesday night will be capable of producing damaging winds and areas of flooding.
- For the mid-Hudson: There is a marginal risk for severe thunderstorms Wednesday, mainly for the afternoon and evening hours. The main threat would be damaging winds. Also, heavy rainfall could lead to minor flooding of low lying, urban and poor drainage areas, especially Wednesday into Wednesday night. Isolated flash flooding is possible. There is a chance of thunderstorms Thursday.
"The strongest storms can produce localized flooding downpours, strong wind gusts, hail and frequent lightning strikes," AccuWeather Meteorologist Clay Chaney says.

Rainfall amounts could range between a tenth and half an inch, though higher amounts are possible in thunderstorms.
