Hen Hud High Named PLTW Distinguished School

From Hendrick Hudson Schools: For the second year in a row, Hendrick Hudson High School has been named a Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Distinguished School. The school was recognized for providing students with broad access to transformative learning opportunities through PLTW programs in computer science, biomedical science and engineering.
While 223 high schools in New York State offer PLTW programs, Hendrick Hudson High School is one of just four in the state to receive the distinction this year, and one of only two high schools in the state to receive it the past two years in a row. The school is also the only high school in the state receiving the title that offers all three PLTW programs (computer science, biomedical science and engineering).
PLTW is a nonprofit organization that serves millions of K-12 students and teachers in over 10,500 schools across the U.S. The Distinguished School recognition honors schools committed to increasing student access, engagement, and achievement in their PLTW programs. Through PLTW programs, students develop STEM knowledge as well as in-demand, transportable skills that they will use both in school and for the rest of their lives, on any career path they take. “Hendrick Hudson High School is a model for what school should look like and should be very proud that it is ensuring students have the knowledge and skills to be career ready and successful on any career path they choose,” said Vince Bertram, President and CEO of PLTW.
