Hendrick Hudson Schools Calendar 2015-16

You may be thinking about how many more days you can go to the beach, but the first day of school is just around the corner. With that in mind, here are important dates for the 2015-16 school year in the Hendrick Hudson School District.

First day of school: Sept. 2

Labor Day (school closed): Sept. 7

Rosh Hashanah (school closed): Sept. 14

Yom Kippur (school closed): Sept. 23

Columbus Day (school closed): Oct. 12

Parent-teacher conferences (no students): Nov. 3

Day before Thanksgiving (early dismissal): Nov. 25

Thanksgiving (school closed): Nov. 26-27

Holiday recess: Dec. 24-Jan. 3 (school resumes Jan. 4)

Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday (school closed): Jan. 18

Presidents Day/Winter recess (school closed): Feb. 15-19

Holiday recess: March 24-28

New York State testing: April 5-20

Holiday recess: April 22-26

Memorial Day weekend (school closed): May 27-30

Last day of school: June 23

In the event school is cancelled for more than five days, make-up days are scheduled in this order: 5/27, 4/26, 3/24, 4/25, 4/22. Staff should avoid making binding commitments for trips on days designated as make-up days.
