“the Garcia family invited my family to spend a great Super Bowl evening when a devestating electrical fire broke out at our dear friends Stacia, Rob, Andre and Jesse’s home,” wrote Alicia Pascale Goni. “The home was burn to the ground in minutes and we were only able to get out in the nic of time. It was so sudden and quick that we left the house barefoot and the kids in short sleeves. Absolutely eveything was lost, their cars, Rob’s business computers, family heirlooms... The family is in complete shock.”

The call came in just before the Super Bowl began, Mohegan Fire officials said. The fast-moving fire was engulfing the house as they arrived.

Peekskill EMS was on the scene as was the Westchester County Department of Emergency Services, and Putnam Valley and Yorktown were on stand-by.

The roof collapsed, and due to the structural instability, the residence eventually had to be demolished by the use of an excavator to allow firefighters to fully extinguish pockets of fire, Mohegan fire officials said.
