World renowned classical/rock violinist Daisy Jopling Adds Audition Date for Student Talent

It's last call for student musicians! World renowned classical/rock violinist Daisy Jopling has added one more round of auditions for student musicians to be considered to perform in her September concert “Awakening” at the Paramount Hudson Valley, Peekskill, NY. The concert is scheduled for Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 7:30pm and tickets go on sale June 1.

Musicians aged 13 to 21 who play the violin, viola, cello, double bass, flute, clarinet, oboe, bassoon, French horn, trumpet, trombone, and percussion are eligible to try out and appear on a professional stage with professional performers. Jopling is looking for 23 student musicians.

The final day of auditions is scheduled for Tuesday, June 7, 2016 from 12noon to 5pm at the Paramount Hudson Valley, 1008 Brown Street, Peekskill, NY.

“We want the best in up and coming talent for 'Awakening.' Each student musician will be paired with a professional musical mentor, and both will practice, play side-by-side, and perform with me, my band and my special musical guests. It will be the experience of a lifetime!” said Jopling. Students must commit to attending the 2016 rehearsal dates: Tuesday, June 21, noon to 6pm; Tuesday, August 30, noon to 6pm; and Friday, September 23, time TBD; Saturday, September 23, 1pm to 10pm.

Special concert guests include Rob Evan, lead singer with the Trans-Siberian Orchestra and Broadway sensation Joni Lanza. Conducted and arranged by Dean Fransen, “Awakening” blends a wide variety of musical styles including classical, pop, reggae, Irish folk, gypsy violin and rock, all enhanced by custom-designed lighting and projections.

“Awakening” will be taped for television by Cinemusica, and is planned to air in the US, Europe and Asia. The concert will feature original music by Jopling, Lanza, Brian Delma Taylor and Michael Feigenbaum, and will feature arrangements of classical, world and rock music. The performance will feature a full orchestra, choir, and dancers.

Jopling's last two Paramount concerts sold out in advance. Tickets go on sale for “Awakening” to the general public on June 1, 2016 for $50, $35 and $25 at www.paramounthudsonvalley.com or by visiting the box office Wednesday - Saturday 2pm - 5pm. Those in attendance will be presented with an exclusive offer to buy Daisy’s new album “Awakening,” which will be released in October 2016.
