Indian Point Task Force Meetings Coming Up In September
Both are working on essential issues, from property taxes to environmental security, from re-use of the site to storage of spent fuel rods.

CORTLANDT, NY — There are two meetings coming up about the closure of Indian Point. The first is the task force convened by local government officials in the wake of Entergy's announcement that it would close both nuclear power plants by 2021. The second is the state task force appointed by Gov. Andrew Cuomo. Both are working on essential community issues, from property taxes to environmental security, from re-use of the site to storage of the spent fuel rods.
Both will be held in the Vincent Nyberg General Meeting Room at Cortlandt Town Hall.
The Community Unity Task Force Meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Sept. 7. This Task Force is comprised of the Hendrick Hudson School Superintendent, Village of Buchanan Mayor and Deputy Mayor, our County Legislators and Assemblywoman, the Chamber of Commerce Director, the Hendrick Hudson Library Director, local realtors, business owners, union officials and residents. Supervisor Linda Puglisi will co-chair and Councilman Richard Becker is a member, as well. Information on past meetings can be found on this website.

The New York State Indian Point Closure Task Force Meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Sept. 28. These Task Force members include State, Local and Labor Representatives. Tom Congdon, Executive Deputy, Department of Public Service will chair this meeting. Any related documents filed may be obtained by going to the Department’s website at www.dps.ny.gov and entering matter number 17-00994 in the input box labeled “Search for Case/Matter Number”. Documents may also be obtained from the Department’s Files Office, 14 th floor, Three Empire State Plaza, Albany, NY 12223 (518=474-2500).
