Local Musician Joe Duraes Honors Firefighters With New Single 'We’ll Put It Out Somehow (Larry's Song)'

Independent singer-songwriter Joe Duraes announces the release of his latest single, 'We’ll Put It Out Somehow (Larry’s Song),' a soaring, heartfelt anthem dedicated to the brave men and women who run toward danger when others run away. The track, debuting on Saturday, March 7 on all major streaming platforms, serves as a powerful tribute to Duraes’ late father-in-law, Larry Daddio, a dedicated FDNY firefighter who served for 13 years during the 1960s and 70s for Engine 39, Ladder 16. March 7 would’ve been Larry's 86^th birthday.

'We’ll Put It Out Somehow' captures the grit, sacrifice, and quiet courage that defines one of the toughest jobs on earth. Written in memory of Daddio, a man Duraes describes as the family’s hero, the song reflects on his life of service both in the firehouse and as a high school teacher, guidance counselor, and basketball coach.

“This song stands as a powerful dedication to Larry and to every firefighter who risks it all to protect their communities,” says Duraes. “It’s a moving reminder that true bravery burns brightest in service to others.”

To capture the track's electrified acoustic alt-rock energy, Duraes collaborated with a roster of talented Hudson Valley musicians, including Steve Geller (bass), Paul Silverman (organ), Felipe Torres (drums), and featuring a fiery guitar solo by Richie Ranno, known for his legendary work with the iconic 70s rock band Starz.

Based in the lower Hudson Valley, Joe Duraes is an independent artist known for his warm tenor and thoughtful, compassionate songwriting. For more than two decades, Duraes has been a staple of the New York tri-state music scene, performing at legendary venues and opening for national acts like the Gin Blossoms.

His solo debut album, Ebb and Flow (2013), established his signature alt-rock groove, featuring fan favorites like “Crash” and his critically acclaimed cover of Peter Godwin’s “Images of Heaven,” which earned praise from Godwin himself and airplay on 107.1 The Peak.
