Mathnasium of Cortlandt to host Open House on June 26th

Invites Parents to Visit and Experience the Unique Approach That Helps Math Make Sense to Every Child

On Sunday June 26th Mathnasium of Cortlandt is hosting an open house at their location 50 Dayton Lane, Peekskill (across from JoAnn at the Beach Shopping Center).

From 2pm to 4:30pm, the center will welcome families interested in learning more about how Mathnasium has cracked the code to teaching children math in a way that really makes sense. Parents and children are welcome to come in and meet the Owner, Annie Tan, and her instructors, to experience the bright positive learning space where “math makes sense”.

Find out about monthly memberships, which give parents the option of dropping off their children as many times as they wish for up to one hour per day. Summer Flex passes, which can be used for 15 sessions anytime throughout the summer.

Summer math programs are important because children lose about two months of computational fluency each summer, if they do not spend some time reinforcing their prior learning, according to John Hopkins University. This is known as “summer slide”. This slide can be overcome in September, but it can also leave a child vulnerable to lowered self-esteem.

“We’re excited about this opportunity to introduce ourselves to the Cortlandt and Peekskill community and demonstrate to area residents how Mathnasium forges a positive attitude toward math among kids. Math can be intimidating to both students and parents, so we hope the open house will show how the Mathnasium Method™ makes it interesting and fun,” says Annie Tan, Owner.

Mathnasium offers kids in kindergarten–12th grade fun and effective after-school math programs. Programs are tailored to each child’s individual needs and are designed to make math make sense to each and every child, build confidence, and enable independent problem-solving.

“We look forward to offering parents and students the chance to see how we function, meet our stellar instructors, learn about our curriculum, and observe firsthand some of the accomplishments we’re so proud of,” Annie Tan, adds.
