Methadone at Bynum Taxi
Michael Villanova, a 48-year-old Briarcliff resident was charged with seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, on April 21 at 12 p.m. at police headquarters in Peekskill, police said. Peekskill police executed a search warrant at Villanova’s Bynum Taxi office at 1075 Washington St. on Feb. 17 and recovered methadone. The search warrant had been obtained pursuant to an investigation into illegal business practices at the taxi company, which remain under investigation at this time. Villanova was released on his own recognizance and is due to appear in Peekskill City Court on May 9 at 11 a.m.

Joseph Johnson, 32, of Cortlandt Manor, was charged with second-degree strangulation, a felony, and third-degree criminal mischief, a felony, on Spring St. in Peekskill on April 21 at 5:55 p.m. police said. Johnson was charged following a domestic dispute in which he choked a female acquaintance causing her injury, according to the police report. Johnson also damaged several items of property belonging to the victim during the dispute including a cell phone and dishes. Johnson was held for arraignment in Peekskill City Court.

Gilbert Perez, 17, of Peekskill was charged with fourth degree criminal possession of stolen property, a felony, on April 21 at 3:25 a.m. on the 700 block of N. Division St. Officer Basso observed Perez in a vehicle that had been reported stolen earlier in Middletown, police report. Filmore Beazer, the driver, a 28-year-old Bronx man who police report was unaware the vehicle had been stolen, was charged with second degree aggravated unlicensed operation. A third male in the car, a 21-year-old Peekskill man who police said was also unaware the vehicle had been stolen, was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana. Beazer and the 21-year-old male were released on their own recognizance and are due back in Peekskill City Court on May 9th at 11 a.m. Perez, who is suspected of actually stealing the vehicle, was held for arraignment.
Repeated Phone Threats Leads to Multiple Charges
On April 23 at 5:30 a.m. Rafael Waller, 29, of Peekskill was charged with aggravated harassment, a misdemeanor, on Kissam Rd. Waller was charged with making threatening telephone calls to a female acquaintance in which he put her in fear of physical injury. Waller was held for arraignment in Peekskill City Court. Waller was charged with the same offense once again on April 25 after he contacted and threatened the victim 16 more times after his original arrest.
Aggravated DWI
On April 23 at 4:20 p.m. Salvatore Sical, 41, of Mahopac was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated on Main St. and Dayton Lane in Peekskill. Sical was charged following a three-car motor vehicle accident in which he was found to have a BAC of .23 percent. Sical was additionally charged with operating the vehicle without insurance and tailgating. Sical was held for arraignment in Peekskill City Court.
