Montrose Man Suspected in Supermarket, Bank Robberies
He was found in the brook near the Super Food Town on the Old Albany Post Road.
CORTLANDT, NY — Police captured a man accused of trying to rob a supermarket on the Albany Post Road Friday night, and he is also a suspect in the Peekskill bank robbery earlier that day.
Just after 8 p.m. Nov. 25, the State Police, Village of Croton-on-Hudson Police, and Westchester County Police responded to a 911 call of an attempted robbery at the Super Food Town located at 2005 Albany Post Road.
Interviews of witnesses revealed that a suspect had passed a note to a cashier threatening the use of a firearm and demanding all the money in the register. The suspect ended up fleeing prior to obtaining any money, police said.

Their search was immediate and extensive. They found a man hiding in a nearby brook; and, after a brief struggle, he was taken into custody, police said.
The man was identified as Joshue M. Flores, 26, of Montrose. He was charged by State Police investigators with one felony count of third-degree Attempted Robbery. The investigation revealed that Flores was also linked to other criminal matters being investigated and additional charges are pending in the City of Peekskill and Village of Croton.

Flores was arraigned in the City of Peekskill Court.
