Montrose Teen Arrested Following Watergate Motel Dispute
A 17-year-old boy was arrested for allegedly breaking a lobby window and attempting to use a lit cigarette to burn a motel desk clerk after being thrown out of the motel.

The following arrest information was supplied by the New York State Police public information officer. It does not indicate a conviction.
New York State Police at Cortlandt arrested 17-year-old Montrose resident Cody Troccoli for felony charges of third-degree criminal mischief and second-degree attempted assault on Friday, June 17.
Police were acting on a complaint that Troccoli had allegedly broke a Watergate Motel lobby window with his elbow and attempted to burn the motel desk clerk with a burning cigarette following a dispute over Troccoli and his friends being ejected from the premises.

Troccoli was arrested shortly after the incident while walking from the motel back towards his residence.
State Police are investigating if Troccoli's actions were prompted by his perception of the desk clerks religion and ethnicity and the potential that this is a bias incident.

Troccoli was released to his legal gaurdian and is due to appear in the Town of Cortlandt Court on July 1 at 9 a.m.
Troopers were assisted in the search for the suspect by units from the Village of Croton Police Department.
