Pair Arrested in Connection with $5,000 Bike Shop Burglary: State Police

The two are alleged to have stolen items and cash from Down Cycles in Croton-on-Hudson.

Two men were arrested by state police this week in connection with July 30 burglary of Down Cycles in Croton-on-Hudson, according to the department’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation in Cortlandt.

Arrested were Alexander Henderson, 21, of Peekskill, and Devon Sherman, 19, of Mount Vernon, both on a charge of Burglary 3rd Degree, a Class D Felony.

According to state police, following a “detailed investigation” troopers learned that Sherman and Henderson had “entered the business and stole approximately $5,000 worth of bicycles, computer equipment and currency.” Information about what led to the two being identified as suspects was not disclosed.

Sherman was arrested on Aug. 18, and Henderson was arrested on Aug. 17. They were arraigned before the Town of Cortlandt Court and remanded to Westchester County jail in lieu of $10,000 bail.
