Peekskill Building Maintenance Supervisor Suspended

It seems to be part of the ongoing controversy about the deputy mayor's housing grant.

So authorities are looking into a grant given to Peekskill Deputy Mayor Drew Claxton’s son seven years ago to renovate his home, which he jointly owns with her.

Public officials are supposed to get a waiver to get the grants, so it is possible he needed one.

The agency and state officials are looking into the matter, to determine what if anything went wrong and what should be done. The Westchester District Attorney’s Office is looking into the matter to determine if anything criminal went on.

The paper said that Mayor Frank Catalina said that Building Maintenance Supervisor Joe Minnerly told him that a door had been forced open.

Then the Peekskill Post reported that Minnerly had been suspended.

“I wanted to let you know that based on information brought to this office, Joe Minnerly has been suspended with pay effective immediately pending a continuing investigation,” City Manager Richard Leins wrote in an email, the Peekskill Post learned.
