Police ID Victim Of Fatal Motorcycle Crash In Cortlandt
The collision involved two Cortlandt residents.
CORTLANDT, NY — New York state police have identified the victim of a fatal collision on Kings Ferry Road in Montrose on Thursday involving two Cortlandt residents. They allege it was caused by a driver who crossed traffic in the path of an oncoming motorcycle.
Their preliminary investigation concluded that at 4:30 p.m. a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee operated by Nadia L. Caterino was traveling westbound on Kings Ferry Road, and attempted to make a left-hand turn onto Hunt Road.
Caterino, 32, failed to observe an eastbound 2016 Kawasaki motorcycle.

The motorcycle rider, Matthew Hickey, 30, apparently laid the bike down in an attempt to avoid the collision, but was struck by the Grand Cherokee.
Cortlandt EMS and the Montrose Fire Department attempted to provide lifesaving care. Hickey was transported to the Hudson Valley Hospital Center, where he was pronounced.
