Poughkeepsie Woman Faces DWI Charge In Yorktown

She's among 28 impaired drivers state police from Troop Ki said they removed from public roadways over the July 4 weekend

YORKTOWN, NY β€” State Police in Troop K said they removed 28 impaired drivers from public roadways over the July 4 weekend. Among them was a Poughkeepsie resident driving on the Taconic in Yorktown.

On July 5, State Police from SP Stormville arrested Tamaya Nelson, 27, of Poughkeepsie, NY, for DWI. She was traveling on the Taconic State Parkway in the town of Yorktown, when she was stopped for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law. Investigation revealed she was under the influence of alcohol, police alleged.
