Rescuers Retrieve Injured Hiker From Anthony's Nose
The challenging rescue took place Monday in high heat and humidity.

Crews from agencies across the region retrieved a hiker injured on Anthony's Nose Monday in what the Peekskill Community Volunteer Ambulance Corps called "a challenging rescue" due to the heat and humidity.
"A big thank you to all the VOLUNTEER firefighters from multiple agencies that performed the rescue and hard work," PCVAC said on Facebook. "Setting up the various ropes and stokes basket for the rescue and guiding them through some tough terrain and thick brush. We could not have done it without you!"
Among the other agencies going to the rescue were the Continental Village Volunteer Fire Department, Cortlandt Regional Paramedics, Fort Montgomery Fire Department, Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department and Yorktown Heights Volunteer Fire Department.
