ResistAIM Starts 2nd Day of Disruption
Foes of the Algonquin Pipeline expansion are occupying a stand of trees to prevent clear-cutting.

After a Peekskill resident had a standoff Thursday morning with construction crews trying to clear trees along the route of the Algonquin Pipeline, friends have joined her, according to a press notice.
Nancy Vann opposes the expansion of the pipeline, which runs from New Jersey to New England. She and other members of ResistAIM are in Cortlandt. They said:
Friends and neighbors have taken up Nancy’s fight and are occupying the same stand of trees to block tree clearing by Spectra.

They can be found on Pine Lane (off Washington St) in Cortlandt. Crews have just arrived and people are standing their ground.
