Save the Date: Electronic Music Festival in Peekskill Oct. 18

Proceeds will benefit Fred's Pantry and EMBARK's music scholarships for children.

EMBARK | Peekskill, in collaboration with Kevin Michael Winterfield of MERWIN, presents ELECTRONICA 1.0, the Hudson Valley’s first-ever electronic music festival Oct. 18, from Noon to 1AM at EMBARK@EMC located at 925 South Street in Peekskill.

Kevin Michael Winterfield, the event’s brainchild and Artist Director, was inspired to bring an electronic music festival to Peekskill because he saw that the Hudson Valley was becoming an epicenter of electronic music performers and lovers.

“Peekskill is going through an exciting music-renaissance period,” says Winterfield. “Being an Electronica artist myself, I wanted to bring together the best local electronic talent the Hudson Valley and beyond has to offer.”

EMBARK | Peekskill leapt at the chance to help create this intimate arts experience in the heart of Peekskill. ELECTRONICA 1.0 brings a whole new form of music and alternative artists into the mix. It brings the party back indoors one week after the outdoor Block Party Summer Series ends – just in time to warm up to music like you have never heard before.

“What’s most amazing is how audiences of all ages are drawn to Electronica artists like Peekskill resident musician KIDAUDRA,” said Katie Schmidt Feder, EMBARK’s Co-founder and Executive Director. “We’re very excited to have such a rising star join us because her music is very mesmerizing, meditative and of a wonderfully layered quality. It’s a rare chance to get all these amazing artists together in one place in one day.”

The event will start with four workshops between Noon and 4pm that will focus on electronic music production, promotion and performance. The workshops will be presented by some of the 11 featured Electronica artists performing later in the evening, including KIDAUDRA, who recently wowed audiences at The Peekskill Music Festival Battle of the Bands on July 25, 2014.

The evening performances (between 6pm and 1am) will be enhanced with Real-time Audio-responsive visualizations by video pioneer Joshua DeLorimier aka TrashTrash and offer up a full spectrum of electronica - from EDM to DIY to Shoegaze to Noise.

The 11 featured artists include: KIDAUDRA; Et Ceter4; Droid Daughter; David Cartategui; Brian Delma Taylor; Tattoo Money; Holm.; Carlos Schmarlos/Bronze Thesaurus; Salinsky; Spreaders; Ohms of Resistance; and a SPECIAL SURPRISE GUEST!
