Under new legislation requirements, this requires ALL homeowners receiving a Basic STAR exemption to re-register with the New York State Tax Department in order to receive the exemption in 2014 and subsequent years.
This new requirement is an attempt to obstruct property owners who have been filing more than one property.

Registration started on August 19, 2013 and will continue through December 31, 2013.
For you SENIOR STAR citizens, you are not required to re-register, yet you do need to apply annual and continue to participate in the Income Verification Program.
