Driver Arrested For Felony DWI After He Rear-Ended Another Car Before Cops Could Stop Him: NYSP
The 57-year-old Wappinger Falls man had a blood alcohol concentration of 0.28 percent, according to state police.

WAPPINGER, NY — A drunken driver may have hurt his defense after police say he crashed his car while they were trying to pull him over.
The New York State Police say that on Monday, around 6:40 a.m., troopers from SP Wappinger tried to stop a vehicle traveling east on Myers Corners Road, in the town of Wappinger, for traffic law violations.
Before the vehicle stopped, it rear-ended another uninvolved vehicle, according to state police.

While speaking with the driver, identified as 57-year-old Scott K. Deines, of Wappinger Falls, troopers noticed signs of intoxication. They administered standardized field sobriety tests, which Deines failed.
He was arrested and taken to SP Wappinger for processing, where he provided a breath sample that resulted in a blood alcohol concentration of 0.28 percent.

Deines was charged with felony aggravated DWI (per se- 0.18 of 1 percent or more alcohol-1 prior conviction); felony DWI (previous conviction of designated offense within 10 years), and several traffic violations.
He was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Wappinger Court on July 7.
