"Looking Forward" features Daniel Castro, Ahnad Dunlap, Kahleek Hill, Oumaima Karmoune, Amanda Mercado, Beth Ross, and Maria Vazquez

The Field Gallery presents Looking Forward: SUNY WCC Painting Students.
July 22 --August 25, 2017.
Opening Reception: July 22, 11am -2pm

Looking Forward is comprised of a selection of student paintings from spring 2017 at SUNY WCC. These works pull from a wide array of approaches to contemporary painting. The paintings of Ahnad Dunlap and Amanda Mercado incorporate assemblage, using objects as material, color, and imagery. Beth Ross and Khaleek Hill employ tension, plasticity, and color within their non-objective abstractions. Daniel Castro, Maria Vazquez, and Oumaima Karmoune each utilize the body and mundane objects to express personal issues of daily life, identity, and struggle.
