Whenever Terrence Murphy runs for election, he reaches into his files and pulls out the same old script. The first line in the script accuses his opponent of being beholden to a "Bill DeBlasio pay-to -play" scheme. In other words, his opponent's campaign is somehow being funded by De Blasio, thereby incurring some obligation to New York City special interests.
However, the facts (remember facts?) show that Senator Murphy is the only candidate in this race receiving funding from New York City special interests. This can be easily verified by going to the New York Board of Elections website (www.elections.ny.gov/contributions).

There you will find that Murphy's donors include the following from New York City:
- Charter schools
- Real estate developers
- Event ticket sales
- Hedge funds
We desperately need change in Albany. That change will begin when we elect candidates who put people over special interest groups. We can do better. That's why I am supporting Robert Kesten for the NY State Senate. He will be working for us, the people of the 40th Senate District.
