Cleaner/Custodian – DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES

Town of Cortlandt - PT

Town of Cortlandt seeks a PT (15 hours per week) cleaner/custodian to work in various town buildings. This individual will be working from 3:30PM – 6:30pm and will be responsible for the following tasks (other items may be added as needed)

Sweeps and mops floors, corridors, and stairs and vacuums floors, rugs and carpets;

Cleans lavatories and replenishes supplies, when applicable;

Dusts desks, chairs, tables, bookshelves, filing cabinets;

Empties trash receptacles;

Waxes floors and furniture;

Washes windows, walls, and partitions;

Moves furniture;

locks rooms to ensure building security;

locks building at the end of shift

May report to superiors on the condition of buildings, rooms, and apartments in terms of

their cleanliness and disrepair.
