Troopers Accuse 2 of Drunk Driving in Cortlandt

CORTLANDT, NY — State Police in Troop K reported removing 18 impaired drivers from public roadways over the April 20 weekend. Two of the arrests were in Cortlandt.

• On April 20, State Police from SP Cortlandt arrested Ramiro Castillo Puntiel, 35, of Yonkers, NY, for DWI. He was traveling on State Route 9 in the town of Cortlandt, when he was stopped for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law. Investigation revealed that he was impaired by alcohol, police alleged.
• On April 21, State Police from SP Cortlandt arrested Elvis I. Vele, 23, of Peekskill, NY, for DWI. He was traveling on Dutch Street in the town of Cortlandt, when he was involved in a one car motor vehicle crash. Investigation revealed that he was impaired by alcohol, police alleged.
