CORTLANDT, NY — The VA Hudson Valley Health Care System will conduct the seventh annual VA2K Walk and Roll to promote employee wellness and benefit homeless Veterans. The event takes place nationwide at VA facilities across the country. This year there will be walkathons on the Montrose campus ant at Castle Point.
The annual VA2K Walk & Roll is a walk of roughly 1.2 miles that encourages people to live active lifestyles, according to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. It also allows participants to support homeless veterans through donations of food and clothing items. In 2016, more than 24,700 VA employees, veterans and community members from around the country participated, donating money and goods worth more than $384,800 to help homeless veterans.
The 2017 event will start at noon May 17, at the Montrose campus sculpture garden, 2094 Albany Post Road, Montrose, NY 10548, and at the Castle Point memorial garden, 41 Castle Point Road, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590.
