Very Public Suicide in Downtown Peekskill
A man killed himself on the third floor of the parking garage: news reports.
Peekskill Police Chief Eric Johansen told reporters a man apparently tied the rope to the third level of the garage, which is located at Park and South James streets.
He then jumped with the other end around his neck. Passersby heard a booming noise.
“He was hanging in complete view of the public,” the chief said.
