PEEKSKILL, NY — Peekskill was the latest stop for the Westchester County effort to supply child-sized masks to school districts.

Westchester County Executive George Latimer, along with the Westchester County Superintendent's Association, presented the Peekskill City School District Superintendent Dr. David Mauricio with 10,000 masks Monday.

Latimer said they've visited with students across the county who are excited to be back in school alongside their peers, according to a county spokesperson.

"Until all our children are fully vaccinated, keeping them safe from this virus remains a top priority," he said. "We are not out of the woods yet."

The county's role is to be a partner with the school district, Latimer said, providing them with help to protect their students.
