Woman Who Ran From Court Faces More Charges

She adds two more misdemeanors to the list.

CORTLANDT, NY โ€” A woman who ran away from Cortlandt Town Court after being sentenced on drug and driving charges now faces new charges from New York State Police.

Danielle Piamonte, 25, bolted Monday after the town justice ordered her sent to Westchester County Jail.

The Cortlandt resident was at the court for proceedings related to her arrest in January 2017, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree, Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, both class A misdemeanors, and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 3rd degree, an unclassified misdemeanor.

State police were called in Monday at 1:50 p.m. for a report of a suspect fleeing the custody of court officers.

They arrested her Tuesday and charged her with Escape in the 3rd degree and Criminal Contempt in the 2nd degree, both class A misdemeanors. Piamonte was arraigned before the town of Cortlandt Court and remanded to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 bond.

Back in 2011, Cortlandt residents Danna Piamonte, 21, and Daniel Piamonte, 56, were listed among the arrestees during a sweep of drug dealers in Peekskill.
