Yorktown Police Arrest Cortlandt Man For Driving Offenses

He was stopped for one thing then arrested for more.

YORKTOWN, NY — Yorktown police arrested a 28-year-old Cortlandt man after stopping him because the car he was driving didn't have properly working brake lights. That's when they found out he was driving with a suspended license.

It was about 1:46 p.m. Monday when an officer stopped him on Commerce Street. His license is suspended for failure to answer summonses, police said.

Philip D. Staten, of Buttonwood Road, is charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, and driving with inadequate stop lamps, an infraction.
