1 Pelham School On Top Public Elementary Schools List For 2018

PELHAM, NY — Excellent schools are one of the main reasons people move to the Hudson Valley. Niche.com released its annual rankings of the best schools in the country this week, as well as statewide rankings. And it's no surprise that Hudson Valley schools are on the lists.

Siwanoy School is on the Top 100 list, at No. 88. Colonial and Hutchinson just missed the cut-off, ranked at No. 103 and 133 respectively. All three received overall A grades. See the details.

One out of four of New York state's Top 100 elementary schools are local, according to Niche.com. All but one are in Westchester County.

Niche, a website for researching schools, used a variety of factors, including SAT/ACT scores, student-teacher ratio, the quality of colleges students consider and reviews from students and parents for its ranking. Niche assigns a standardized score for each factor, which is then weighted before an overall score is calculated for each school district.
