600 Gallons of Fuel Oil Go into Bronx River

Another 1,400 was captured before it further contaminated the river in Yonkers

Official are estimating that up to 600 gallons of heating oil spilled into the Bronx River Saturday.

Lohud.com reported that a heating oil truck had pulled into a driveway at 125 Bronx River Rd. in Yonkers to make a delivery and a leak started.

A private cleanup company and Yonker’s hazmat team managed to prevent 1,400 gallons of the oil from going into the river.
