A.G. Williams and several local sponsors, including the Town of Greenwich, came together to raise funds for arts education, supporting the Greenwich Cartooning Chronicles after-school program.
The nonprofit recently held its first annual fundraiser, Toons For Ten, to raise scholarships for the Greenwich Music & Art Camp’s 2014 season. The event, which was free for all participants, drew over 200 students and artists from 15 Greenwich schools.
The “Toons For Ten” fundraiser featured cartoon art on display drawn by the students from Central Middle School, Cos Cob School, Eastern Middle School, Glenville School, Greenwich Music & Art Camp, Greenwich High School, Greenwich Catholic School, International School at Dundee, Julian Curtiss School, New Lebanon School, North Street School, Old Greenwich/Riverside Community Center, Parkway School, Riverside School, Western Middle School, Winward School, and Whitby School.

Toons For Ten raised funds to provide 10 camp scholarships while also celebrating 10 years of drawing toons in town.
To commemorate the occasion, The Greenwich Cartooning Chronicles published a special edition of the newsletter’s 10th issue, distributed free of charge at the event. The latest issue features new comic strips and character drawings from over 100 local contributing student artists ranging from 6 to 14 years old.

This event offered free activities donated by various local sponsors. Contributions to the “Toons For Ten” event included painting stations by Painting With a Twist, character drawing by Greenwich Cartooning Chronicles, food by Garden Catering, décor by Avon Theatre, costumed characters by Beyond Costumes, music & entertainment by Huddle Up Sports, prizes by Vineyard Vines and Greenwich YMCA, photography by Jack Dog Studio, printing by Minuteman Press of Greenwich, event planning by Golden Events, funding by A.G. Williams Painting Company and Orthopedic & Neurosurgery Specialists (ONS), staff by Greenwich Music & Art Camp, and venue by Town of Greenwich.
