• Erica Winter steps down as Pelham's Receiver of Taxes; deputy receiver assumes her duties; Town Council to select replacement (pelhamexaminer.com) — Pelham's Receiver of Taxes, Erica Winter, has resigned after less than a year, and Deputy Receiver Darlene Paolercio is now handling the office's duties. The Town Board will discuss appointing a new Receiver at its Sept. 14 meeting at Daronco Town House, which residents can attend via the accessible entrance from the back parking lot.
   

• Episcopal services of remembrance planned as US marks 25 years since 9/11 attacks (episcopalnewsservice.org) — Christ Episcopal Church in Pelham will hold a Requiem Mass at 5:15 p.m. on Sept. 11 to honor victims of the 9/11 attacks, as part of Episcopal commemorations nationwide. Local worshipers can join this service close to home while similar remembrances take place at St. Paul's Chapel, Trinity Church, Washington National Cathedral, and other congregations across the country.
