Fifth graders go to St. Paul’s for field trip, hear about local battle
MOUNT VERNON — The Colonial fifth grade went to St. Paul's Church National Historic Site. The three classes went to learn how Colonel John Glover saved the Revolutionary War.

MOUNT VERNON — The Colonial fifth grade went to St. Paul’s Church National Historic Site on Oct. 16 for a field trip.
The three classes went to learn how Colonel John Glover saved the Revolutionary War at the Battle of Pell’s Point.

The fifth graders walked around the church’s graveyard to different information stations with students from other schools to hear about the Revolutionary War and the Pelham battle. There were demonstrations of fighting and life in the 18th century at St. Paul’s.
The field trip was the first one for the Colonial fifth grade, with another to Lincoln Center coming up.
