Grades 3-5 display electrical circuits, simple machines and inventions at Science Night

HUTCHINSON GYM — Grades 3 through 5 participated in this year's Science Night on April 17 for a learning experience they will never forget.

HUTCHINSON GYM — Grades 3 through 5 participated in this year’s Science Night on April 17 for a learning experience they will never forget.

Grade 3 created electrical circuits to assist them with their science skills (see Rebecca Jacobson’s story on the third grade science night projects). Fourth graders made simple machines such as pulleys, levers or wheels and axles. Finally, the fifth grade created inventions.

“Well, it took me only a day or hour to build,” said Joe DaProcida (3G), who made a parallel circuit for his project.

“I used a switch, lightbulb, battery and wire,” said Anim, also in the third grade.

From elevators to cars, simple machines do it all.
