Roscoe’s Room welcomes Bria Skonberg for a CD release party celebrating her second recording, Into Your Own, on the Random Act Records label.
This award-winning trumpeter/vocalist was voted the Jazz Journalist’s Association’s “Up and Coming Artist of the Year” in 2013 and has been honored with a New York Bistro Award for “Outstanding Jazz Artist.”
She has performed at over 50 jazz festivals across North America, Europe and Japan, as well headlined at such New York landmarks as Birdland, The Iridium, Dizzy’s and the Café Carlyle. Her style is rooted in hot jazz, world percussion, soul and electronic effects. Her debut U.S. release, So is the Day, features an all-star ensemble including John Pizzarelli, Victor Goines and Wycliffe Gordon.
