Choosing Wines for Summer at Pelham's Blue Dog

Going to a picnic or barbecue this weekend? Are you wondering what kind of wine to bring?

Magdalena Hanson at Blue Dog Wines & Spirits won't tell you what to bring but will help you make your own decision.

Some of the questions she will ask you are:

• "Are you looking for red, white or rose?"
• "What is your price range?"
• "What kind of event is it—a barbecue or a picnic?"
• "What sort of foods will be served?"

"We try to make it relaxed and easy," Hanson said, without pushing her wine preferences on the customer.

She said labels are important to some people; if so, she will deal with them.

"We will give them options," she said.
