Colonial alumna Emmy Kelly publishes stunning webcomic 'Silverwolf'

Emmy Kelly, a former Colonial Times reporter and now a seventh grader, is the writer and illustrator of her own web comic "Silverwolf."

PELHAM — Emmy Kelly, a former Colonial Times reporter and now a seventh grader, is the writer and illustrator of her own web comic “Silverwolf.” You can read it here.

Her writing pulls the reader in, while the pictures let readers’ minds enter the story. Emmy’s comic is definitely one you want to read. Her characters have realistic personalities, and they go great with the story. Her drawings are amazing and they compliment the story very well. The story has readers wanting more and creates excitement no reader can resist.

“I usually find inspiration everywhere,” according to Emmy. “For example, in ‘Beauty and the Beast’ there is talking furniture. I also get personalities from people I know, and sometimes I steal ideas from other comics.”

“I get inspiration from a lot of things but generally other web comics. I don’t have anything sponsoring me, but I look at other web-comic artists, and think hey, maybe I can get there some day.”

Emmy’s family are very supportive. Even her younger brothers get into the comic spirit

“My mom made the entire website and my brothers will tease me non-stop, but they read it and tell other people about it,” Emmy said.

Mrs. Kelly also has something to say. “I think it is completely amazing, but I am tough on her and I am a pretty strong critic. I think her artwork is beautiful, and her writing is really good, and overall I think it is really good.”

Emmy is definitely a rising star and has a real talent. Emmy’s web comic “Silverwolf” is one you don’t want to miss. Click on the link to read more of her comic.

“Please read, and it is cooler than it sounds,” said Emmy.

Recently, Emmy won an honorable mention in the Scholastic Art Competition Northeast.
