DA: Robbery Team Linked to Shooting of Little Girl
She was hit in the leg by a 19-year-old aiming elsewhere, police allege.
Two Yonkers men indicted Wednesday have been linked to the shooting of a 4-year-old girl.
Acting Westchester County District Attorney James A. McCarty announced that Floyd Bruce, 19, and Lamont McLean, 22, were arraigned Aug. 31.
The DA alleged that Bruce fired a semi-automatic pistol while walking on Willow Street in Yonkers at 5:15 p.m. July 16. He missed his intended target and instead shot a 4-year-old in the leg. She was hospitalized for several days, McCarty said. The DA's office did not say what the intended target was.

Bruce and McLean, both residents of 354 Nepperhan Ave., were arrested July 27 in connection with an armed robbery the day before. Police said a ballistics test on Bruce's pistol matched the bullet to the July 16 shooting.
Bruce is charged with:

- one count of Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, a class “A” Felony,
- two counts of Robbery in the First Degree, class “B” Felonies,
- one count of Attempted Assault in the First Degree, a class “C” Felony,
- one count of Robbery in the Second Degree, a class “C” Felony,
- two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, class “C” Felonies,
- two counts of Assault in the Second Degree, class “D” Felonies,
- one count of Reckless Endangerment in the First degree, a class “D” Felony,
- one count of Criminal Possession of Marijuana in the Fifth Degree, a misdemeanor.
McLean was charged with:
- two counts of Robbery in the First Degree, class “B” Felonies,
- one count of Robbery in the Second Degree, a class “C” Felony.
According to the DA's announcement:
On July 16, 2016 at approximately 5:15 p.m., defendant Bruce was walking on Willow Street in Yonkers when he fired a .22 caliber semi-automatic pistol striking a four year old girl in the leg. She was not the intended target. The defendant ran from the scene.
The victim was taken to a local area hospital where she was treated and released a few days later.
On July 26, 2016 at approximately 4:40 p.m., both Floyd Bruce and Lamont McLean were on Palisade Avenue in Yonkers. Both defendants, armed with handguns, approached two men in a parked car. They proceeded to rob both men at gunpoint.
Both defendants then ran from the scene.
July 27, 2016, both defendants were arrested by the Yonkers Police Department. At the time of Bruce’s arrest, police recovered a .22 caliber semi-automatic handgun that was in his possession. A ballistic test on the weapon matched it to the shooting which took place on July 16 th .
Both defendants pled not guilty and were remanded to the Westchester County Jail.
Their next court date is September 27, 2016.
Both defendants face a maximum of 25 years in state prison
