East 3rd Street Bridge Reconstruction To Start In Pelham, Mount Vernon

PELHAM, NY — The bridge carrying East 3rd Street over the Hutchinson River Parkway is expected to be under construction beginning Monday until mid-August 2018. Construction at the project site includes the complete removal and replacement of the bridge structure. Plus, the Parkway ramps will be rebuilt to tie into the new parkway elevations.

During construction, traffic will utilize a temporary bridge that will be placed adjacent to the old East 3rd Street bridge, which will be closed.

Use caution when traveling through the work zone area and pay attention to flaggers and all traffic control devices, including signs.

Remember, fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
