Elementary Parent Literacy Nights Are Nov. 2, 8
Pelham Public Schools will host Literacy Nights for parents on Thursday, November 2nd and Wednesday, November 8th.

PELHAM, NY - From Pelham Public Schools: The Pelham Public Schools are inviting elementary parents to attend one of two Parent Literacy Nights on Thursday, Nov. 2 and Wednesday, Nov. 8.
Each event will run from 7-8:15pm and Dr. Maria Thompson, director of humanities and Julie Liebersohn, a reading teacher and K-5 literacy coordinator, will provide parents with grade-specific tips to help students master reading and writing at home. They will also provide an overview of the district’s reading and writing workshop model and discuss ways to help students with vocabulary.
The Nov. 2 event will be held at Prospect Hill School and is intended for parents of students in grades K-
2.

The Nov. 8 event will be held at Colonial School and is intended for parents of students in grades 3-5.
“These events are great opportunities to learn about how reading and writing are taught in our schools and the progress we have made in creating common units of study and experiences for students,” said Dr. Thompson. “This is a window into the curriculum that is taught in the classroom every day.”
