Join the Jah Jerry foundation as we embark upon our first dinner/dance fundraiser. The evening will include a delicious multi-course meal catered by The Elegant Country Kitchen Restaurant, featuring dishes such as; jerk chicken, run down fish, rasta pasta, lobster bisque & salads. A variety of free non-alcholic beverages will be served. In addition there will be Ska and reggae music, dancing and special guests; including a special address from the Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation.
Jah Jerry foundation’s purpose is to provide educational assistance to individual attending college in Jamaica and the United States. Jah Jerry believed that education opens doors to possibilities and opportunities and could expand the 'mind' beyond unlimited imaginations.
Jah Jerry was a pioneer musician who helped create Jamaica’s first indigenous music, Ska which became the defining sound of Jamaican music. Known in the early 1960s as Ska, by the end of the decade the sound had developed into reggae. He probably played on the most # 1 and classic songs in Jamaica. He was the guitarist on the Jamaican Independent song; he also played on the Wailers first recording featuring a young Bob Marley.
