Pelham SEPTA Presents High School Transition Panel Discussion

A panel discussion focusing on the college experience – from applying to graduating.

Panel members will include:

  • Marlin Thomas, Director of Academic Support at Iona College;
  • Gena Archer, PMHS Guidance Counselor;
  • Jenny Frank, LCSW, Westchester Coordinator for the Compass Project;
  • Libby Fee, parent of a recent college graduate.
  • Our moderator for the panel will be Peggy O’Leary, past SEPTA President and current Pelham Board of Ed member.

On March 15th Ms. Mashal Gonzalez, Director of Transition Services at Westchester ARC, will discuss what’s available for high school students who are interested in alternate paths after high school.  Included in her discussion will be information on pre-vocational training; job coaching; internship experience; ACCES-VR, a New York State Department of Education program and other government assistance programs.

Pelham SEPTA is an organization composed of parents, administrators, and teaching staff. Many of these parents have children who receive special services from the Pelham School District, from pre-school through high school.  Our main goal is to educate, support and inform parents about available services and topics affecting special education.

We're on Facebook! The page offers information about SEPTA, workshops and links to resources throughout Westchester County. Please search for Pelham SEPTA on Facebook and ‘Like’ it to receive regular announcements about events in the Tri-state area.
