Yoga in the Orangerie Spring Series Begins at Bartow-Pell Mansion Museum

Bartow-Pell Mansion Museum will offer its spring series of Yoga in the Orangerie on eight consecutive Wednesdays, from April 18 through June 6, 8:30–9:45 a.m. Taught by certified Anusara© yoga instructor Ann Casapini in a serene and sunlit space, this beginner level class is suitable for those new to yoga, as well as those who want to deepen their practice in a steady, mindful approach.

“One of the fastest-growing styles of yoga in the world, Anusara© yoga uses the Universal Principles of Alignment to allow the body, breath, and spirit to align with the power of grace to tap into our full potential,” says instructor Casapini. “Deeply therapeutic, yoga provides benefits on the physical, mental and spiritual levels. It improves muscle function, flexibility, posture, and breath capacity; enhances mental focus and relieves stress, anxiety, and insomnia; and also provides philosophical guidance for people who want to step forward on the spiritual path of life.”

“Offering yoga classes with a gifted teacher like Ann is just one more way that the museum is expanding its offerings,” says BPMM executive director Ellen Bruzelius. “It’s a wonderful opportunity to reap the benefits of yoga in a small group setting that allows for individualized attention.”

Class size is limited to 12. Registration and pre-payment are required. Dressing in layers is suggested. Mats will be supplied or students can bring their own. Call 718-885-1461 or email info@bpmm.org to register.
