5th GRADE CLASSROOMS -- The fifth grade students are doing projects called current events, which is when a fifth grader chooses a news topic from the category that their teacher told them to select from.
Matthew Alexander (5S) said, "Doing current events is fun and interesting because you can learn more about a certain subject. The topics we have done so far are government and health care, and at the end of the year, we will be doing more fun topics. We get a month to do the projects, and I think that it is enough. We present it in front of the whole class and get graded on it.

Mr. Alexander Ventura, a fifth grader teacher, said, "The kids do a project, and they have to include the 5 Ws (who, what, where, when, why) and how. They present in front of the class. Some kids do Powerpoint, and some others type it."
